US Intelligence Committee Calls For Urgent Aid To Ukraine This Week

Following a classified briefing on Ukraine, the US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee has called on Congress to approve urgent aid to the country by the end of the week.

The corresponding statement of the Committee was published on the X (Twitter) on Wednesday, April 17.

It is noted that during the meeting the committee received information about the critical need to provide Ukraine with military aid.

"We need to transfer aid to Ukraine. In a classified briefing today, our committee was informed of the critical need to provide Ukraine with military aid this week. The United States must confront (Russian dictator Vladimir - ed.) Putin's war now because the situation in Ukraine is critical," the statement said.

The statement is authored by the committee's chairman, Republican Congressman Mike Turner, and the committee's ranking member, Democratic Congressman Jim Gimes.

Republicans have been blocking the Ukraine aid bill since October 2023. At first, they were referring to the need to toughen the US migration policy.
