First Drone Strike On Tatarstan Since War Outbreak

The refinery in Nizhnekamsk and the Shahed UAV production plant in Yelabuga were hit.

On the morning of April 2, explosions occurred in the special economic zone of Yelabuga in the Republic of Tatarstan (Russian Federation). Residents complained about the drone attack.

In turn, local officials confirmed that the attack was carried out on the enterprises in Yelabuga and the refinery in Nizhnekamsk. This is reported by the Ukrainian media.

"For the first time since the beginning of the war, drones attacked Tatarstan – two UAVs flew to factories in Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk," the report reads.

In Yelabuga, presumably, there is a production of drones, and in Nizhnekamsk – a large petrochemical factory. The drones flew more than 1,200 kilometers from the border with Ukraine.

According to residents, there were also explosions at about six in the morning in the territory of the Alabuga Special Economic Zone, which is located near the city.

According to media reports, there was a drone attack on the Elaz-Nefteprodukt oil refinery. Eyewitnesses said they saw two UAVs that flew into the Yelabuga special economic zone, followed by several explosions.

Local authorities confirmed that the drone attack in Tatarstan was committed on enterprises in Yelabuga and Nizhnekamsk. At the same time, officials said that despite the explosions, "the technological process was not violated" allegedly.
