Belarusian Woman Fired Ten Months Before Retirement

She worked in the organisation for more than 30 years.

A Belarusian woman, who worked as a leading engineer in a freight forwarding company, has been fired 10 months before retirement. To be more precise - her contract was not renewed. As a result, she sued the employer, for whom she had worked for more than 30 years. However, the verdict was hardly satisfactory to her. Details of this story are posted in the bank of court judgements.

The woman told the court that the problems at work began after the management offered her to write a voluntary resignation letter at the end of last year, but she refused.

On November 23 last year, the employee was instructed to prepare an analysis of the company's customs activities by the 29th of November. Already in December, the management brought the woman to disciplinary responsibility for poor performance of the task. After that she was warned that she would not be awarded a new contract. Later in December, the woman was again brought to disciplinary responsibility, this time for violating information security.

The woman tried to have the disciplinary sanctions cancelled by the court, to be reinstated at work, and to recover her average salary for forced absenteeism. She also tried to get compensation of Br4,000 for moral harm.

However, the court rejected all these claims because it considered them unreasonable.
