Georgia Votes For ‘Foreign Agents’ Law

The country's capital was gripped by mass protests.

The Georgian parliament voted for a scandalous bill about “foreign agents”. Now in the capital of the country, in particular under the walls of parliament, mass clashes continue, News Georgia reports.

Students and representatives of various movements took to the streets to oppose the adoption of the bill “On Transparency of Foreign Influence.”

The situation within the walls of parliament itself was no better, where mass clashes between deputies began against the backdrop of the ruling party’s plans to pass a corresponding bill.

In the end, even despite the collective efforts of delegates from the US and EU, the Georgian parliament voted to approve the controversial bill with 84 votes in favor and 30 votes against.
