Four Years Ago, Belarusian Leader Mikalai Statkevich Was Arrested
COLLAGE: CHARTER97.ORG

There has been no news about him for 15 months.

One of the leaders of the Belarusian opposition, Mikalai Statkevich, was detained on May 31, 2020, two months before the “elections”.

1.5 years later, in December 2021, he was sentenced to 14 years in a special regime colony. The political prisoner is serving his sentence in the Hlybokaye colony, and for 15 months, since February 2023, there has been no information about him.

Last year, the colony administration repeatedly subjected Mikalai Statkevich to disciplinary sanctions; in addition, material was collected against him to initiate another criminal case under Article 411 of the Criminal Code of Belarus (“malicious disobedience to the requirements of the administration”).

You can support the political prisoner by sending him a letter at the following address: penal colony #13, 211791, Hlybokaye, Savetskaya street, 205, Mikalai Statkevich.
