Air Defense In Crimea Goes Blind: SSU Drones ‘Switched Off’ Russian Radar Station Worth $100 Million

The special operation disabled the Russian air defense system along a large section of the front.

The drones of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) “switched off” the “Sky SVU” radar station (radar) worth $100 million in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Informed sources of Focus spoke about this.

The special operation took place on the night of May 29-30. The Russians now have one less long-range radar detection system. According to sources, the station was hit by drones developed by military counterintelligence officers of the SSU.

The Russian radar station was located near Armyansk and controlled a section of the front with a length of 380 kilometers, ensuring the protection of Russian army facilities in the Crimea.

After the attack by the SSU drones, space reconnaissance equipment recorded a shutdown of radar radiation, which did not resume, the publication’s interlocutors clarified.

The special operation left Russian air defense “blind” on a significant section of the front, the sources concluded.
