According to the diplomat, Ukraine has the right to postpone the selection of targets.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis answered the question whether Ukraine has the right to strike Russian targets on the territory of Belarus, Radio Svaboda reports.
The diplomat believes that Ukraine has the right to defense:
“I mean that Ukraine should be able to defend itself. If Russia, fearing that targets could be attacked on its territory, can move them somewhere else, then I think that the selection of targets should be moved,” Landsbergis said.
It is important to note that a meeting of NATO foreign ministers is taking place in Prague on May 31.
The United States, Germany, France and Great Britain previously allowed Ukraine to hit targets on Russian territory with transferred weapons, but only in defense of Kharkiv. A number of countries, including Poland, Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and the Netherlands, advocate easing restrictions on the use of Western weapons by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
