The 110th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces unveiled the details.
Russia lost the Su-25 attack aircraft, which provided support to Russian units on the front line in Ukraine. The plane was shot down by the soldiers of the UAF 110th Coroner General Mark Bezruchko Separate Mechanized Brigade (OMBR), which held Avdiivka in February.
First, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this in an evening address.
Zelensky thanked the Ukrainian soldiers who were holding the defense on the front line. At the same time, special gratitude goes to the military from the 110th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, who shot down a Russian front-line aircraft. The President of Ukraine did not provide details about the successful development. He only indicated that the event took place in the Donetsk region.
“I gave special notice to the soldiers from the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade for shooting down another Russian Su-25 in the Donetsk region today. Well done guys! Thanks to all our soldiers at the front who perform combat missions at combat posts,” Zelensky said.
It should be noted that the press service of the 110th Brigade wrote about the downing of the Su-25 on its Facebook page. In an earlier message posted on May 2, the fighters said they had returned to the front line in the Donetsk region after spending 2.5 months recovering from the fighting.
The 110th Brigade held the defense of Avdiivka, which the Russian Armed Forces began attacking in mid-October 2023.
