Poland To Send Military Personnel With Combat Experience To Border With Belarus

Poland will send soldiers and policemen with combat experience in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo to the border with Belarus.

This was stated by Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak- Kamysz. According to him, groups of migrants who are trying to storm the border from the side of Belarus, have received new equipment and are now more dangerous than they were before, writes wnp.pl.

‘These are organised groups, controlled by Belarus or the Russian Federation, armed with equipment that threatens life and health. It looks quite different from the first weeks, months or even years of attempts to cross the Polish-Belarusian border,’ Kosiniak- Kamysz noted.

According to him, the migrants have changed tactics, and Polish security forces need to take measures, including preventive measures.

‘Hence the introduction of additional forces. These are not only soldiers and commandos after missions in Afghanistan and Iraq, but above all soldiers and police officers after missions in Kosovo,‘ the minister said.’ the minister said.

Kosiniak- Kamysz noted that soldiers on the border received new, more modern and reliable, equipment, as well as additional equipment, including armoured personnel carriers.
