ISW: Lukashenka Brings Himself Closer To Dock In The Hague

The case of the dictator's crimes has been enriched with new facts.

Belarusian officials, including usurper Aliaksandr Lukashenka, continue to admit involvement in the illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Belarus and their ‘re-education’ under Belarusian programmes.

This is stated in a report of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Analysts note that on June 10, chairman of the Russian-Belarusian civil initiative of ‘Union,’ Siarhei Lushch, met with a group of 32 Ukrainian children from occupied Melitopol in Minsk.

At the meeting, he stated that the ‘Union’ organisation had cooperated with the occupation administration of Zaporizhzhia region to organise the trip and stressed the ‘patriotic education’ of the children during their visit to Belarus. Such ‘patriotic education’ reportedly includes teaching children about Russian and Belarusian military history within the framework of the Kremlin's interpretation of World War II.

Despite this information, ISW analysts have long concluded that Lukashenka is involved in Russian crimes.

‘ISW has long believed that Belarusian officials, including Aliaksandr Lukashenka, are directly involved in Russia's campaign to deport Ukrainian children,’ the experts summarised.
