It was located in the Belgorod region.
In the Belgorod region, the recreation center “Nezhegol”, which the Russian army used as a command post, was destroyed as a result of the strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At least three servicemen were killed, Astra writes, citing sources in the emergency services.
According to them, the base in the Titovka microdistrict of Shebekinsky, which belongs to the Belgorod State University, had long been used by the military. The Ukrainian Armed Forces struck it on the morning of June 9, presumably using HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems. At least 15 servicemen were there at the time of the attack.
According to the Telegram channel “Spy Dossier”, a command post was deployed at the recreation center “Nezhegol”, which controls units that are taking part in the offensive on the Kharkiv region, including Vovchansk, where intense fighting is currently underway. As a result of the attack, the building sustained significant damage, and eight officers went missing. The channel's sources noted that “Nezhegol” was on the Ukrainian Armed Forces' “target lists”, which intelligence warned the 6th Army command about at least a week before the attack, but no countermeasures were taken.
A photo of the destroyed recreation center was published by the Belgorod Telegram channel “Pepel”. Satellite images posted by Radio Svoboda journalist Mark Krutov also confirm the attack on “Nezhegol”. Russian servicemen had been there since at least December 2022, as evidenced by photographs taken at the time by one of the soldiers at the facility.
