ILO Demands Access To Belarusian Political Prisoners For Doctors

An international humanitarian mission must assess the health of the regime's prisoners.

The Committee on the Application of Standards of the International Labour Organization (ILO) has called on the Belarusian authorities to allow independent doctors access to imprisoned trade union activists.

This was discussed at a special meeting within the framework of the 112th International Labour Conference in Geneva.

The Committee demands that the Belarusian authorities urgently accept an international humanitarian mission to allow independent doctors to visit all imprisoned trade union activists to assess their health and provide assistance, as well as accept a tripartite ILO mission to assess the situation and visit trade union activists in places of detention.
