Belarusian Railways Head Arrested For Bribery: Details

More than $3 million was found at his house.

The ONT TV channel reported details of the arrest of the deputy head of Belarusian Railways Piotr Dulub. More than $3 million was found at his house.

A criminal case has been opened against Dulub under the article on receiving a bribe on an especially large scale (Part 3 of Article 430 of the Criminal Code). In the video of the state channel, he is called “the biggest bribe-taker in the history of modern Belarus”.

The deputy head of the railway was caught “red-handed” in the parking lot of a car. The video claims that he took bribes from commercial entities for lobbying their interests in cargo transportation. Which legal entities are being mentioned is not specified.

As stated in the story, the official kept the money in cash — at home, as well as in the country house of his mother-in-law. The law-enforcement agencies were watching him for almost two years.

In early July, the Belarusian Railway Workers' Community reported the arrest of the first deputy head of the Belarusian Railways, Piotr Dulub. According to the initiative, Dulub was caught red-handed “taking a bribe”, using specially marked banknotes, on May 18.
