Sabalenka To Skip The Olympics In Paris

Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka has decided not to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Her rather busy schedule and injuries are to blame.

“I will not play at the Olympics because of the WTA rules regarding mandatory tournaments. I will have to sacrifice something, and, unfortunately, at this stage of my career I will have to sacrifice the Olympics,” Aryna said.

After losing to Mirra Andreeva in the quarterfinals of Roland Garros, the former world number one complained of abdominal pain. And before the Grand Slam tournament, Sabalenka reached the WTA-1000 finals in Madrid and Rome. In both matches, Arina lost to Iga Świątek, who leads the ranking of the best tennis players on the planet.

“The situation is difficult, the calendar is too busy. “I made a decision to take care of my health,” added Sabalenka.
