Three Dozen DPRK Soldiers Cross South Korean Border: Shooting Begins

Details.

There has been shooting in South Korea on the border with the DPRK. North Korean soldiers crossed the state border of the neighbouring country. This is reported by the South Korean agency of Yonhap with reference to the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea.

Thus, North Korean soldiers who worked in the demilitarised zone, which separates South and North Korea, again crossed the state border. Due to what the South Korean defenders had to make warning shots in the air.

After that, the DPRK soldiers returned to their side. This was the second DPRK border violation in less than two weeks after a similar incident on June 9.

According to the JCS, about 20-30 North Korean soldiers crossed the military demarcation line within the DMZ on the central section of the border.

"These actions appear to be measures to strengthen internal control of the North Korean military and residents and reflect their attempts to cross the border," the JCS said.
