Murder Attempt Against Kazakh Oppositionist Aidos Sadykov In Kyiv

On Tuesday, June 18, an attempt was made on the life of Kazakh oppositionist Aidos Sadykov, who is known for his criticism of the Kazakh authorities, in Kyiv. NV sources reported this.

Earlier, the police said that in the Shevchenko district, an unknown person shot at a man who was sitting in a car with his wife.

The woman was not injured. At the same time, the police did not provide information about the man's condition.

The attacker fled the scene. The police are now looking for him.

Aidos Sadykov is a Kazakh journalist, the head of the opposition Internet media BASE. On his own YouTube channel, which he runs with his wife, he criticizes the government of Kazakhstan and the oligarchs.

He is known for supporting the protests in Kazakhstan in 2022 when Collective Security Treaty Organization troops were brought in to suppress them. In October 2023, the opposition activist was put on the wanted list in Kazakhstan.
