About 200 people were evacuated.

A methane outbreak has occurred at Uralkali's mine in the Russian town of Solikamsk, injuring two people, RBC Perm reports.

The company said that it has activated a plan of action to localise and eliminate the consequences of accidents, the staff has been brought to the surface. Production facilities are operating in the normal mode.

The source of "112" specifies that the incident occurred at a depth of 400 metres. Two workers of the mine were injured - they have severe burns, they are receiving medical care. About 200 people were evacuated from the mine.

"Uralkali is one of the world's largest producers of potassium chloride. The company was founded in 1934 and is a subsidiary of JSC Uralchem. Its production facilities are located in Solikamsk and Berezniki in Perm Krai. At the end of 2021, Uralkali's net revenue totalled $3.48bn.

The Perm Krai Ministry of Health told RBC Perm that after the incident, two victims with burns of varying severity were hospitalised in the city hospital. The patients are receiving the necessary medical care.

The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
