Smolensk region of the Russian Federation has been attacked by two drones, said the Governor Vasily Anokhin.

It is known that the attempted attack took place around four in the morning: two UAVs were directed at military facilities in Vyazma district, Смоленск-i.Ru wrote on June 26.

"The enemy tried to attack military facilities located in Vyazma district. The air defence forces suppressed the drones. There are no casualties and destruction," the governor wrote and asked local residents to stay away from UAV parts and call emergency services when spotting them.

On June 23, Anokhin reported air defence operations over Smolensk and Yartsevo, and in the morning of June 22 - on the attempt of two UAVs to attack a military facility in Smolensk district.

It should be noted that the 82nd separate radio-technical brigade of special operations is based near Vyazma (217 kilometres from Moscow).

It consists of two battalions - synchronised direction finding and communications, as well as material and technical support companies.
