Lukashenka To Blame For Death Of Former Belarusian Ambassador To Germany
LEONID NEVZLIN

Belarusian diplomats working abroad are in a panic.

The well-known Israeli public figure Leonid Nevzlin writes about this in his Telegram channel:

— In Belarus, the well-known diplomat Dzianis Sidarenka, who recently returned from Germany, where he worked as an ambassador from 2016 to 2024, committed suicide. The official also headed the direction of cooperation with the OSCE and the Council of Europe in the Belarusian Foreign Ministry and was in the close circle of the country's Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei, who died under strange circumstances in November 2022. It is possible that the minister was killed due to contacts with Western partners behind his master's back.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka, after the falsification of the presidential elections in 2020, and especially after joining the war against Ukraine in 2022, fell into complete isolation. Makei, having extensive contacts in the EU and the US, according to sources, continued to conduct some negotiations with Western partners. It is known that when the special services reported this information to Lukashenka, he went into a rage.

It is reported that upon returning from his ambassadorial assignment in Germany, Sidarenka also became the object of attention of the KGB. The Belarusian dictator is paranoid and constantly fears conspiracies behind his back, so all career diplomats who return from the EU are now becoming objects of careful operational study by the special services.

Lukashenka is to blame for the death of Dzianis Sidarenka, sources are sure. Belarusian diplomats working abroad today are in a panic. Returning to their homeland is now associated with a mortal risk for them, and some are already thinking about political asylum in the host country.
