Dozens Of Explosions And Powerful Fire In Nizhny Novgorod

The fire is spreading quickly.

There was a strong fire on the territory of a waste disposal site in the city of Nizhny Novgorod (Russian Federation) that night, June 30. Residents report several explosions at this facility, located on the Moscow Highway.

RBC-Ukraine reported this citing the Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Department in the Nizhny Novgorod Region and Russian media.

The area of the fire in the warehouse was about a thousand square meters.

A high column of smoke rose above the burning object, which can be seen for many kilometers.

Local publications reported that tanks containing paints and varnishes were on fire. In addition, Shot writes, that gas cylinders are likely located inside the burning premises.

A resident of Nizhny Novgorod told reporters from the local publication “In the City of N” about sounds similar to explosions, of which she counted 7 powerful ones and about 40 weaker ones.

Online info also reads that the fire spread quickly, and firefighters did not arrive immediately after the incident.

Meanwhile, local rescuers say that when the fire and rescue unit arrived at the burning waste disposal site on the Moskovskoye Highway in the Kanavinsky regional center, containers were burning there.

“Fire and rescue units are involved according to fire rank 2. There were no dead or injured,” the statement reads.
