Poland Decides Not To Resume Operation Of ‘Bobrowniki - Berestovitsa’ Border Crossing

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski explained why.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that the opening of the crossing in Bobrowniki on the Polish-Belarusian border is not planned yet. He is quoted by the Polish РАР news agency.

Sikorski said that the situation in relations with Belarus does not allow opening the border crossing in Bobrowniki: ‘I would also like to have a completely different situation on the border.’

He reminded that Poland and Belarus had previously signed an agreement on border traffic, which eventually never came into force. However, that was at a time when the number of political prisoners in Belarus was falling, not growing.

‘Now Belarus is experiencing the biggest repression in the history of this regime. I also wish our entrepreneurs could do business normally. But it's Lukashenka and Putin who are conducting a hybrid war with Europe, not the other way round,’ said the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry.

We remind you that on May 24, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland might reopen the Bobrowniki border checkpoint on the border with Belarus.
