The dictator went into the red.
The failure of the week was the Mongolian monologue of Aliaksandr Lukashenka. Moreover, this is a double fail.
The visit to Mongolia was supposed to reinforce the thesis that "only the damned West is against us", and all others want to be friends and admire us. Maybe it would have worked for some people, but Lukashenka ruined everything with his own hands.
After reading the comments in the Mongolian press, the ruler was surprised to find that they were… well, let's say, not enthusiastic at all. And he decided to repulse "journalists support one side"
On this occasion, his Telegram channel published an 8-minute video, although Lukashenka usually cuts it into much smaller pieces. The ruler spoke in his favorite genre "now I will explain everything to you", trying to confuse the audience in the intricacies of various events over the past nine centuries: he linked Genghis Khan, the collapse of the USSR and Odesa.
What's the bottom line? The teachings from above hardly brought pleasure to the local audience and were not favorably perceived too. Especially the fact that Lukashenka tried to use the national hero of Mongolia to justify the invasion of Ukraine.
In Belarus, thanks solely to the words of the ruler himself, they learned that even in Mongolia they condemn this act of aggression. They condemn to such an extent that, despite the legendary Eastern hospitality, they criticize Lukashenka. And in terms that can cause dismay even among his staunch opponents.
As a result, Lukashenka made a double fail because of his vocabulary: both in Mongolia and in Belarus. The propaganda effect of the visit went into the area of negative values.
