Purpose Of Russian T-34 Tanks In Belarus Disclosed

The Ministry of Defence named two goals.

Ten T-34 tanks from Russia were delivered to Belarus to take part in the “Independence Day” parade on July 3, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defence reports.

“The T-34 tanks that arrived from the Russian Federation are in excellent technical condition and are ready not only to march solemnly at the parade but also, if necessary, to carry out a combat mission,” said Colonel Siarhei Tomchyk, the Deputy Chief of Armament of the Armed Forces of Belarus.

He recalled that these tanks had already taken part in the parade on Red Square on May 9, as well as in other regions of the Russian Federation.

Starting next week, this parade unit will take part in the preparation of a mechanized column of troops participating in the parade of Minsk garrison troops at the Lipki air base.
