Belarusian Authorities Introduce Important Pension Changes

Starting next year.

Changes will be introduced in Belarus regarding the calculation and assignment of pension payments. From 2025, the period for which salaries are taken to calculate these payments will be increased by one year - to 31 years of continuous work experience. State social services report this.

To calculate the pension, they are taking into account the salary for the last 30 consecutive years of work (or less if they worked less than this period). From January 1, 2025, this figure will increase by one year - to 31 years.

Another pension change will also be introduced from October 1 this year. Expands the list of those who must make mandatory insurance contributions to the Social Security Fund.

From October 1, pension contributions to the Social Protection Fund will become mandatory for artisans, owners of agricultural estates, as well as the self-employed.

As the Ministry of Labor previously clarified, these Belarusians will make contributions to the Social Security Fund according to the same scheme as individual entrepreneurs:

payment of contributions - by March 1 of the next year,

Contributions must be made only for the months in which the person works.
