“Our people will have to be patient a little,” said First Deputy Chairman of the Homel Regional Executive Committee Andrei Baranouski.

He said that "serious measures have been taken." Power engineers from Homel and other regions of Belarus and specialists from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, housing and communal services and builders were sent to the Mazyr district. They are restoring power lines.

The official also emphasized that problems with power supply also affected large enterprises, such as the Mazyr Oil Refinery and Moayrsalt.

“As soon as the main power supply network in the Mazyr district is restored, enterprises will resume their work,” he added.
