Special NATO Representative To Ukraine Appointed

A British official has been appointed.

On Wednesday, July 17, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced the appointment of Patrick Turner as a senior representative to Ukraine.

This was announced in the NATO press service.

Patrick Turner will begin his duties in Kyiv in September 2024. As Senior Representative, he will lead the Alliance's representation in Ukraine, ‘act as the coordinator of NATO's engagement with the Ukrainian authorities in Kyiv’ and ‘coordinate NATO's efforts and provide the Alliance with assessments and advice on the situation in Ukraine’.

Prior to his appointment, Turner served as NATO's assistant secretary-general for operations and defence policy and planning and held a number of senior civil service positions in the UK.
