The Kremlin is creating provocative situations for the Belarusian dictator.
Russian drones have already flown into Belarus three times, first over Ukraine. In this way, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is trying to “tame” Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
This opinion was expressed to Channel 24 by Deputy Director of the Army Research Center Mikhail Samus, noting that Russia wants to drag Belarus into a war with Ukraine. But Lukashenka is afraid of this, and is trying to avoid such involvement.
What Putin is up to
Samus suggested that it is Russia that is sending them to Belarus. Before this, Lukashenka made an atypical statement that his country has withdrawn its troops and does not want to have problems with Ukraine. However, this is happening against the backdrop of the dictator's hopes that Russia will create groups on the territory of Belarus to stretch the reserves of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
— Now they have no forces there (in Belarus — Channel 24), but they are putting pressure on Lukashenka to carry out provocative approaches from the territory of Belarus, — the deputy director noted.
Lukashenka has no plans to escalate the situation on the border with Ukraine. He was very scared by the expulsion of Russian troops from the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in April 2022. The dictator is afraid of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and is trying to balance.
— He continues to resist and the Russians are creating such provocative situations, — Samus emphasized.
Putin is thus trying to drag Belarus into the war against Ukraine. In order for the Shahed to fly to Belarus, its route was planned in advance, that is, the Russian dictator did it on purpose.
