Belarusian Was Not Allowed To Leave Lithuania For Belarus By Car

It turned out that it was not a matter of documents or sanctions.

Lithuanian border guards detained a young Belarusian citizen driving a Renault Megane Scenic at the Medininkai checkpoint. The Lithuanian State Border Guard Service reported.

“He showed the border guards his personal documents and car documentation, but the officers suspected that the foreigner was drunk. The driver smelled of alcohol, he had difficulty oriented in space, his speech was incoherent,” the border service said.

Border guards took the Belarusian to the guardhouse, where they checked his state of intoxication using a breathalyzer. On the first breath, he had 2.2 ppm, on the second - 2.16.

The drunken Belarusian and his car were handed over to the arriving police officers. This fact is being investigated.
