Lukashenka Voices Another Complaint Against Belarusians

This time to the residents of the regions affected by the hurricane.

Some Belarusians “are waiting for the authorities to solve all the problems and would not lift a finger” to help eliminate the consequences of the hurricane that swept through the country at the end of last week.

This statement was made by Aliaksandr Lukashenka on July 19 at a conference call, BelTA reports.

The usurper emphasized that among Belarusians “there are citizens for whom everything will always be bad.”

“People don’t want to understand that this is an emergency. A war is simply ongoing, but there is no shooting from machine guns or cannons. The same as in war. And no one asks the question: what did you do to overcome this catastrophe?” Lukashenka voiced his reproach.

He noted that there are those who help remove rubble and fallen trees in the affected regions and provide assistance to utility workers. On the other hand, “there are those who expect the authorities to solve all problems and won’t lift a finger.”

“ These are my complaints <...> to people. But, if you look at it as a whole, there are a lot of shortcomings. This is our disease: rosy reports — this is good, that is good. Why are you lying to me?” Lukashenka was indignant.

Important to note, a storm swept through Belarus at the end of last week. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, six people died, including two children. About 600 settlements were damaged, hundreds of trees fell. This is the largest natural disaster in recent times for our country.

Lukashenka did not comment on the Sunday hurricane the following day, even after the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported the death of six people (including two children) as a result of bad weather.

Judging by the website of his press service, on Monday the dictator managed to meet with the head of the Russian Chuvashia Oleg Nikolaev, signed a couple of decrees on customs agreements with Cuba and Nicaragua, and presented awards to employees of the State Control Committee. However, Lukashenka did not have time to express condolences to the relatives of the dead Belarusians and the injured (there are at least 15 people).
