Expert: Appearance Of DPRK Troops Could Trigger Underground War In Ukraine

A major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine revealed what is special about it.

North Korea could send engineering units to war in Ukraine. According to a serviceman, a major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yehor Checherinda, this is dangerous because a so-called underground war could begin. He reported this on the air of “Espresso”.

“There is information that five engineering brigades could be deployed here from North Korea. What is dangerous about them? During the Korean War, tunnel, underground warfare was very actively used,” Yehor Checherinda said.

He noted that the so-called underground war was invented by the Koreans, their engineering brigades dug barracks and control centers for themselves at a depth of 80-100 meters. As a result, they were completely protected from American air raids. In addition, the Koreans dug tunnels through which they entered the enemy's rear.

The Russians have used this in Toretsk, in particular during their last offensive campaign, before that — in Avdiivka, it is very dangerous,” he noted.

The military believes that the Koreans can use this experience in the Russian-Ukrainian war. He noted that the Defense Forces need to take into account that the DPRK troops have experience breaking through to the enemy's rear using underground tunnels, in order to exclude such operations in Ukraine.

He added that perhaps the Koreans will build something in Ukraine for the Russian Armed Forces, but their appearance will be a violation of any international norms and standards.
