Withstands 6 Kg Of TNT Blast: Armed Forces Of Ukraine Receive New Armored Vehicle

The characteristics of the unique equipment have been revealed.

A new domestically produced medical armored vehicle “Kozak-5MED” has been approved for operation in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

It is noted that the armored vehicle is designed to evacuate wounded and injured servicemen from the battlefield.

The Ministry of Defense stated that the “Kozak-5MED” is based on the chassis of the American heavy-duty Ford F-550 pickup truck and can transport four lying wounded or six in a sitting position, in addition to the driver and medical evacuation team personnel.

It is reported that the vehicle is equipped with a diesel engine with a capacity of more than 330 horsepower and an automatic transmission.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the armor of the medical vehicle provides protection for the crew and passengers from debris and 7.62 mm caliber balls. In addition, the bottom of the armored vehicle has reinforced protection that can withstand an explosion equivalent to 6 kilograms of TNT.
