OLAF SCHOLZ

Journalists revealed the "secrets" of the German Chancellor.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, 66, has admitted to having some old-fashioned habits. In particular, the politician still watches lamp TV and also carries documents in a case that is already 40 years old.

Bild writes. The topic arose the other day at a pre-election rally of the SPD in Dresden when discussing the transition to electric cars.

A trade unionist from Volkswagen Zwickau expressed concern about the government's gradual withdrawal of subsidies for electric cars and called for a "price brake", as all this is fraught with job cuts. Scholz expressed the opinion that such cars are bought little not only because of government policy.

The politician explained that the government only recently obliged gas stations to build fast-charging stations. And then he admitted that he had an old tube TV at home, which still works perfectly.

He explained that every time he looks at a brochure in a store that sells the latest TVs, he thinks to himself that in a year these models will still become obsolete – and does not buy them. The same happens, according to Scholz, with cars. A lot of changes are happening with them, and soon today's models will become obsolete. But the politician is convinced that this should not scare people.

“So the Chancellor promotes electric cars using an argument he doesn't use for his tube TV. Will he buy a smart TV now?"asked the German media.
