How could it get to Belarus?

The Vitiaz Belarusian Special Forces unit uses the captured Ukrainian armored vehicle Kozak-5. A photo report of this car was published in the telegram channel of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, mil.in.ua writes.

During the solemn event dedicated to the completion of the combat coordination of the special forces detachment Vitiaz, the Ukrainian armored fighting vehicle Kozak-5 was demonstrated in use.

The armored vehicle was probably used by the training center to train the newly formed detachment, and it is not in service with the unit. The Ukrainian Kozak-5 was not supplied to Belarus. He could get into the country along with the retreating Russian troops from the Kyiv region, who could leave part of the captured equipment before the redeployment. It is also possible that it could enter the country later in 2023, along with parts of the Wagner PMC, which were transferred there after the unsuccessful rebellion of Prigozhin.

It is known that at the time of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, these armored vehicles were entering service with the State Border Guard Service and the National Guard of Ukraine. At the same time, the army received only cars of the old model Kozak-2M.

It became known from the representatives of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine that during the first months of the full-scale invasion, there were no losses or destruction of such combat armored vehicles during the defence of the Kyiv region among the units of the border service.
