The West Can Give A Decent Answer To Putin
GARRY KASPAROV

You need to speak to the Russian dictator in his language.

The cowardly and shameful position of the West is to negotiate with Putin at the expense of the tragedy of Ukrainians who are killed every day. They are looking for a compromise everywhere. However, it must be understood that there are situations when attempts to find it only encourage aggression. Putin's tasks are not a military secret. The elimination of Ukrainian statehood is only part of the overall plan to confront the Free World. Putin is waging war with NATO to change the world order. Compromises are good when there is a clear understanding of the possibility of getting something in return, and all attempts to find common ground with Putin have always ended very badly.

It's good when everything ends in peace, but sometimes it's necessary to use force, and it's obvious that such a path often saves more lives. In 2008, when Putin attacked Georgia, a tougher American position would have given a completely different scenario. If the West had started imposing the current sanctions in 2014, there would have been no big war. These restrictions would clearly demonstrate to Putin that aggression is not good for him, but bad for him. 2022 and a full-scale attack on Ukraine are a natural result of many years of inaction by the West.

Putin's crimes today are comparable to those during World War II. He attacked the hospital on the day of the NATO summit, he killed Navalny on the opening day of the Munich Security Conference. Putin sends a signal to the West that they are incapable of anything impotent, and he is not afraid. The West can give a decent answer – to give Ukraine "tomahawks" capable of destroying a military base in the Moscow region. This is the language that Putin understands.
