Netanyahu Invited The US To Create NATO-Like Organisation In The Middle East

The Israeli Prime Minister also suggested the name of such an alliance.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proposed that the United States make an alliance for security in the Middle East.

It is reported by Charter97.org with reference to the speech of the head of the Israeli government in the US Congress.

"After World War II, the United States forged a security alliance in Europe to counter the growing Soviet threat [NATO - Ed.]. Similarly, America and Israel can forge such a security alliance in the Middle East to counter the growing Iranian threat. All countries that are in peace with Israel, all countries that will have such peace, should be invited to such an alliance," the Prime Minister explained.

Netanyahu also proposed the name of such an alliance — the Abrahamic Alliance (a reference to the "Abrahamic Agreements" that Israel signed with a number of Arab countries in 2020-21 and which provided for the normalization of their relations).
