Lukashenka Gang Up On Academician

The dictator was alarmed by "mistakes" in animal husbandry and plant growing.

Dictator Aliaksandr Lukashenka met with a working group to analyze the activities of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. He demanded a "real breakthrough" from scientists so that they could move "to the next level."

"Recently, I see that the Academy of Sciences has made serious mistakes. This also happens. Science is such a thing when you have to go along unbeaten paths, when you need to master serious problems, reach peaks. Therefore, naturally, mistakes are possible. But what alarmed me was that mistakes were made... where they should not be...: in animal husbandry, in plant growing," Lukashenka said.

The working group was created to "study issues of practice-orientedness and the effectiveness of scientific research" to report to Lukashenka.
