Lukashenka Calls Meeting Over German Citizen Sentenced To Death

As a follow-up to his trip to Putin.

German citizen Rico Krieger, who was sentenced to death by the Minsk Regional Court, has filed a petition for pardon. This was reported on July 30 by Lukashenka's press service.

According to the press service, on July 30, Lukashenka invited “people immersed in the process to his office to hear details, opinions, and consult.” Among them are propagandist Lyudmila Hladkaya, deputy head of Lukashenka's administration Volha Chuprys, and other officials.

The meeting is taking place after Lukashenka's trip to Putin. A number of experts believe that Russia wants to exchange a German citizen sentenced to death in Belarus for FSB officer Vadim Krasikov, who is currently in a German prison.
