Bloomberg: Russians Are Suffering Huge Losses

Putin had to make a decision that would hit the economy.

Kremlin's head Vladimir Putin signed a decree according to which Russians who join the ranks of the Russian aggressor army to participate in the war against Ukraine will now be paid not 200,000, but 400,000 Russian rubles. The occupiers have suffered heavy losses and are trying to recruit new recruits, Bloomberg writes.

Putin's decree states that military personnel who sign a contract with the Defence Ministry to participate in the war from August 1 to December 31, 2024, should receive a one-time payment of 400,000 rubles (approximately $4,600)

The condition for the payment is the fulfillment of "tasks of a special military operation in the territories of the Donetsk People's Republic, the Luhansk People's Republic, the Zaporizhia region, the Kherson region and Ukraine."

The Kremlin's decision is further evidence that Russian troops are having trouble recruiting new recruits for the occupiers, who have suffered huge losses since the start of the full-scale war.

According to Western estimates, Russian casualties in killed and wounded have reached 500,000 people.

The article also emphasizes that the accelerated race for payments in the regions of the Russian Federation has worsened the labor situation and overheated the economy. Enterprises will have to raise salaries to compete with the proposals of the Ministry of Defence.
