Activist of the European Belarus civil campaign, political prisoner Palina Sharendo-Panasiuk is in Homel pre-trial detention center #3, her husband Andrei Sharenda told Charter97.org.
It is unknown how long his wife's transportation from the Minsk Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Mental Health in Navinki to Homel lasted.
In the first half of July, the political prisoner was sent to the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Mental Health for the fourth psychiatric examination. The transportation from the Homel pretrial detention center to the capital took nine days. Then, for a long time, the family did not know where Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was.
Activist of the European Belarus civil campaign Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was diagnosed with a serious illness — moderate chronic pancreatitis. It can be fatal for the political prisoner in the prison conditions.
Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was detained on January 3, 2021. Law-enforcers broke down the door of the apartment, conducted a search, confiscated a number of things, detained Palina, and took her in handcuffs to the temporary detention facility. Later, she was transferred to a pre-trial detention center.
On June 9, 2021, the Maskouski District Court of Brest sentenced her to two years in prison, after which her term was extended several times.
Over the years, she was placed in solitary confinement several times, and also sent to a cell-type premise for six months. Palina remains in complete isolation. In the colony, the European Belarus activist's health deteriorated significantly.
