Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk Transferred Again

The mother of two children was forcibly sent for psychiatric expertise.

Activist of the European Belarus civil campaign Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was taken from Homel pre-trial detention centre to the Republican Centre for Mental Health in Navinki. Details were reported by the husband of political prisoner Andrei Sharenda on Facebook:

"Palina is no longer in the pre-trial detention centre-3 in Homel. She is once again taken to the Republican Centre of Mental Health "Navinki" to undergo a psychological and psychiatric examination. And this is the third time she was sent there. Another dreadful transportation for Polina, which can drag on for 2-3 weeks. And then the same hellish transportation in the opposite direction".

Palina has twice been sent to the Republican National Centre for Mental Health for an expert assessment. It was before her first trial in 2021, and then after Polina's attempt to renounce her Belarusian citizenship. Another such expertise was conducted right in the detention centre. Now they decided to send the activist for the fourth time for examination.

We remind you that the political prisoner was supposed to be released on May 21, but two days before that she was transferred to the pre-trial detention centre as part of a new criminal case under Article 411 of the Criminal Code (malicious disobedience to the colony administration).
