Belarusians Detained With Help Of Special Forces Near Lithuanian Border

They are suspected of violating the border using a quadcopter.

Border guards, with the support of special forces, detained a group of men suspected of violating the border with Lithuania using drones. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Committee (SBC) of Belarus. This is the second case since the beginning of the week.

“In the afternoon of July 5, in one of the settlements of the Voronovo district, at the Drobishuny border outpost, Lida border guards, with the forceful support of the Typhoon special forces unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, while implementing operational information, so to speak, red-handedly detained a group of people,” the report says.

Residents of the district center, including unemployed, are suspected of “violating the border with the Republic of Lithuania using a quadcopter.”

During the inspection of residential and non-residential buildings, four multi-rotor drones, 66 batteries for them, charging stations, control panels and other components for the UAVs, a thermal imager, four GPS compasses and a smartphone were discovered and seized.
