Big Exchange of Prisoners
Recently, Slovenian N1 TV channel announced about the preparation of a large exchange of prisoners between the United States, Germany and Russia and Belarus.
One of the candidates for the exchange is American journalist Evan Gershkovich. Recently, a Russian court sentenced him to 16 years in prison for allegedly collecting information for the US intelligence services about the tank manufacturer in Ekaterinburg.
In addition, a number of political prisoners have disappeared from Russian colonies and pre-trial detention centres. Among them is opposition activist Ilya Yashin, who was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison in December 2022.
