‘For Our Freedom And Yours’

International Day of Solidarity with Belarus was held in different cities around the world.

From August 9 to 13, the Belarusian diaspora held the International Day of Solidarity with Belarus.

On the fourth anniversary of the 2020 Revolution, rallies and flash mobs were held in Vilnius, Warsaw, Berlin, Florence, Boston — the list of locations is truly impressive.

Solidarity journalists collected photos, videos, and quotes.

Protests in Belgium, the USA, Georgia

A memorial event was also held in Belgium. There, Belarusians gathered near the European Parliament.

“Every day, Belarusians fight for a free Belarus, the release of political prisoners, and the opportunity to return home,” the rally participants noted.

Meanwhile, on the anniversary of the protests on August 9, Belarusians in Boston (USA) organized a screening of the film “Under the Gray Sky” by Mara Tamkovich, which was inspired by the true story of Belarusian journalists Katsiaryna Andreyeva and her husband Ihar Ilyash.

And Belarusians in Tbilisi marched from the Belarusian Embassy to the Georgian Parliament, where they held a rally in memory of the events of 2020.

Belarusians in Lithuania reminded the Belarusian authorities of themselves. Hundreds of white-red-white ribbons appeared at the Belarusian Embassy in Vilnius.

Warsaw: “For Our Freedom and Yours”

The action in Warsaw was the largest. Pavel Latushka also took part in it.

People carried posters with photos of journalists detained in Belarus.

Action in Gdansk

Belarusians in Gdansk were very creative in their approach to the action.

The event's motto can be read on the cardboard.

People took to the streets with posters saying “Free Belarus — Safe Poland”. They also remembered the names of all political prisoners.

Action in Vilnius

In Vilnius, Belarusians went to the center of the capital to mark the anniversary of the events of August 2020.

A huge banner with the faces of political prisoners was unfurled near the Cathedral.

The Free Choir and former political prisoner, musician Anton Maslyka performed for the participants and viewers of the action.
