Forbes: Ukraine Carried Out ‘Electronic Blitzkrieg’ Near Kursk

The world has never seen anything like this.

The rapid offensive of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region, which began on August 6, took not only Russia by surprise, but also the West.

A rapid Ukrainian advance starting August 6th has taken Russia – and Western analysts — by surprise.

The offensive has gained more territory in a few days than the Russians have in months. And while it is difficult to tell exactly what is happening, success seems to have been achieved by mastery of a new style of warfare.

This is stated in a new article by the influential Forbes magazine.

When breaking through the Russian border, the Ukrainians relied on two things: electronic warfare (EW) and drones. In fact, the author notes, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to carry out an “electronic blitzkrieg” brilliantly.

First, they brought down Russia’s screen of aircraft-type reconnaissance drones, effectively blinding commanders to what was happening. This may have been done by new interceptor FPVs linked to air-defence radar.

Таким образом, группировка РФ в приграничье Курской области оказалась изолирована и дезориентирована. Это дало возможность передовым группам ВСУ прорвать границу и начать наступление.

“By concentrating enough jamming resources in the Kursk sector, Ukraine neutralized Russia’s drones, allowing their armor to cross open territory without being destroyed,” stated in the article.

The second important part of the Ukrainian offensive is the massive use of FPV drones for the targeted elimination of Russian forces in the area.

The Ukrainians literally filled the skies of the Kursk region with swarms of attack UAVs, which complicated the defense for the Russian Federation. Drones became a full-fledged air support for the ground forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in this operation, replacing conventional aviation. And this is also a new word in military science.

The Ukrainian side is silent about its operation near Kursk, not disclosing its details. However, it is already clear that what is happening has every chance of becoming a new chapter in the history of the war. The Ukrainians have surprised the world again.
