'There Has Not Been Such Cardinal Downgrading Among Top Of Regime For Long Time'

Nothing good is in store for agriculture in Belarus, writes a reader of Charter97.org. He came to this conclusion after Lukashenka's statements at the field meeting on agricultural issues in Shklou:

Those burdened with debts should merge with less problematic ones. The enlarged enterprise becomes unprofitable and goes bankrupt. In recent years, 10 out of 31 agricultural companies remained in Shklou district.

The situation with the former Minister of Agriculture Siarhei Bartosh is quite humiliating. Recently Lukashenka forced him to pull grain out of the ground with his hands. After his dismissal from the post of minister, he put him in charge of Shklou district. Such cardinal downgrading among the top Lukashists has not happened for a long time.

The experienced managers were listening to the agrofuhrer's speeches without enthusiasm. Minister Linevich almost fell asleep".
