The United States revealed the details.
One of the intentions of the AFU offensive in Kursk region is to pull back enemy troops from the occupied territories of Ukraine, and this plan is beginning to work.
According to the WSJ, citing U.S. officials, Russia is withdrawing some of its units from Ukraine and moving them to Kursk in order to try to hold back the onslaught of Ukrainian forces.
According to the newspaper, this is the first sign that the Ukrainian military's offensive on Russian territory is forcing the Russians to regroup their troops.
The newspaper's interlocutors did not specify the number of troops the Kremlin was moving to Kursk Region and added that the US side was still analysing the significance of this move.
Nevertheless, this statement by the US authorities reinforces the statement by Ukrainian officials that the sudden offensive of the AFU near Kursk forces the Russian Federation to withdraw some of its troops from Ukrainian territory, where, having a numerical advantage, they can advance on several sections of the front.
