Shoigu's Adviser Who Claimed There Was ‘War With Antichrist’ Fired From Russian MoD

This delighted z-bloggers.

Political strategist Andrei Ilnitsky was fired from the Russian Defense Ministry after the resignation of Sergei Shoigu, whose adviser he had been for almost 10 years, responsible for the department's information policy.

This was reported by z-blogger Yuri Podolyaka. He accused Ilnitsky of incompetence and called him “empty-minded talker”.

“I am very pleased that this useless <…> “misunderstanding in stripes” will stop interfering with others' work. And it is very good that he will no longer “authoritatively” share his “brilliant” thoughts in an industry in which, unfortunately, he understands nothing,” Podolyaka wrote.

In his opinion, it is Ilnitsky who is to blame for the failure of the Defense Ministry's information policy. Other z-bloggers agree with Podolyaka. For example, the channel “Belorussky Silovik” wrote that Ilnitsky was one of those “who f...ed up this direction in the department.” Also, the public “Two Majors” gloated that the political strategist “advised himself” and reposted a fragment of his speech, where he calls for reading the news once a week.

“If you want to understand things, you can't live by the news and the agenda of today. <…> This is called “mental hygiene.” <…> You live a week and watch the news at the end. You read books, listen to programs about strategy, read analytical articles,” Ilnitsky says in the video.

The exact date of his dismissal is unknown. The Telegram channel “MIG of Russia” claims that it happened “a couple of weeks” after Shoigu's resignation. At the same time, state agencies continued to present the political strategist as an adviser to the Ministry of Defense. For example, on the afternoon of August 15, TASS published such a story, but then corrected its title.

Ilnitsky was born in Lviv in 1959. He met Shoigu in the early 2000s and worked with him from the time when he was the governor of the Moscow region. It is noteworthy that Ilnitsky began his political career in Mikhail Khodorkovsky's Open Russia. 20 years ago, he praised the United States, stating that it was an “amazing country with colossal energy” “created by people who believe in God, but above all in themselves.” However, he then joined United Russia, became close to Shoigu and started talking about the “information confrontation with the West” and the role of the Ministry of Defense in it, Meduza noted.

After the invasion of Ukraine, Ilnitsky began accusing the West of using “mental genocide” and “Antichrist technology” against Russia. He claimed that “global elites” were building a “world of total irresponsibility” and preparing a “project of a new faith for humanity”, where God will be replaced by “trustees” in the form of international organizations. Ilnitsky declared that Russia is waging a war precisely “against the anti-Christian West” on the territory of Ukraine, “where Good and Evil have clashed.”
