The Belarusian dictator had to make excuses.
Ukrainian political scientist Volodymyr Fesenko said to Channel 24 that Lukashenka is afraid of losing power. This is the reason for his strange statements in an interview with Russian propagandist Yevgeniy Popov.
‘Every Lukashenka's speech is a stream of consciousness and subconsciousness in which he expresses his fears, hopes and thoughts on various occasions. However, in this case everything was directed by Lukashenka himself and in his own interests,’ the political scientist noted.
After the start of the operation in Kursk region, Russian bloggers accused him almost of treason. Lukashenka, in their opinion, had allegedly ‘played along with Ukraine’ when he withdrew his troops from the Belarusian-Ukrainian border the day before. This gave Ukrainian troops the opportunity to launch an offensive on Russian territory.
‘Lukashenka had to make excuses. He even moved Belarusian troops to the border with Ukraine. Therefore, the main purpose of this interview is to show that he remains Russia's main ally and has not betrayed anyone, but on the contrary is helping Russia,’ Fesenko emphasised.
Also, Lukashenka said that ‘Ukraine is denazified’ for a reason. This thesis is supposed to suggest that until the ‘denazification’ of Ukraine takes place, the war cannot be over.
