Expert: Putin's Internal Isolation Is Growing In Russia

Many people understand that this is an unfair war.

The Kursk operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed that there is no internal resistance in the Russian Federation. This was stated on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, President of the public organization “Ukrainian Association of Foreign Policy” Volodymyr Khandogiy.

He noted that the Kremlin would clearly like a different world reaction to the offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation.

“I am convinced that the diplomatic institutions of the Russian Federation were actively working in their capitals to at least somehow provide for them. But they failed, naturally. And these expectations, I think that deep down they understood somewhere that it is unlikely that any significant number of countries will come out in defense of Russia or, say, condemn Ukraine,” the expert said.

At the same time, Khandogiy drew attention to the internal situation in Russia.

“Even if we lay such a bridge with Prigozhin's march, then where is the internal support and where are these people who go out into the streets and stop tanks, say, with their bare hands, as it actually happened, say, during the occupation of Kherson by the Russian Federation. There is no internal resistance, and everyone is in such a lethargic sleep, it seems to me. And this is explained primarily by the injustice of the war that the Russian Federation unleashed, and still the understanding of a significant number of people inside the country that this is an unfair war. And let's say this, we do not see internal support for Russia's actions, although, naturally, we must admit that we do not see total condemnation,” he said.

According to the former ambassador, the lack of condemnation can be explained by the dictatorial regime and the repressions that have been launched in Russia against the population, in connection with which it is difficult to count on protests inside the country.

“Well, in general, Putin's isolation and self-isolation are evident today. It exists both on an international scale, and it seems to me, within the country, the internal isolation of this dictator is also growing,” Khandogiy believes.
