Karbalevich: Official Minsk Gets Very Hard Signal
VALER KARBALEVICH

Moscow expressed dissatisfaction at a higher level.

For three days after the start of the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Belarusian officials were silent. Even propaganda resources did not comment on anything, but simply broadcast Russia's position. Then came the condemnation and accusations of Ukraine of allegedly violating the airspace of Belarus by Ukrainian UAVs. It seems that official Minsk received a very tough signal, an impetus, as a result of which the Belarusian authorities decided to react somehow. This opinion was expressed by Belarusian political scientist Valer Karbalevich on the air of the FREEDOM.

"For three days after the start of the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, Belarusian officials were silent. Lukashenka and all other officials. Even propaganda resources did not comment on anything but broadcast the position of Russia, the statements of Putin, Maria Zakharova and others. Only on the fourth day, Lukashenka suddenly announced that allegedly Ukrainian drones flew into the territory of Belarus and were shot down. Moreover, he did not even specify how many of these drones there were, and in general what air targets they were," Karbalevich said.

The political scientist also drew attention to the fact that after that, suddenly, the Ministry of Defence of Belarus announced the deployment of troops to the border with Ukraine, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs protested to the Chargé d 'Affaires of Ukraine in Belarus.

"The propagandists suddenly saw that Ukraine was acting "somehow wrong" in the Kursk region, and they actively condemned it. It seems that official Minsk received a very tough signal, an impetus, as a result of which the Belarusian authorities decided to react somehow. And they react in this way," Karbalevich said.

These actions of the Belarusian authorities are clearly some kind of demonstration, the political scientist believes. First of all, Moscow, that, they say, look, we show allied obligations, fulfill them, and there is nothing to blame us for.

“Some strange reaction from Lukashenka. Usually, when a certain threat really arises, he immediately holds meetings with the security services. He actually holds them once a day, even without any reason. And now it seems to be alarming at the border, but there is no meeting. Then he promised to come to the border yesterday, but for some reason he does not go. That is, he behaves somewhat non-standard, unusual. Therefore, it can be assumed that Moscow expressed dissatisfaction. And not some 'milbloggers' who criticize Lukashenka for a long time and call him a traitor, but at some other, higher level," Karbalevich concluded.
